Who we are
Our story
Decibel A was founded in November 2025 in Antwerp as a Belgian nonprofit association (vereniging zonder winstoogmerk / association sans but lucratif). Our founding act was published in the Belgian Official Gazette (Belgisch Staatsblad / Moniteur belge) on 1 December 2025.
Our mission
The association has as its purpose the support, promotion and development of musical and artistic expression, in particular by guiding, producing and distributing music projects of independent artists. We strive to contribute to the cultural enrichment and accessibility of music in all its forms, without profit motive.
In practice, this means we work to help independent musicians and artists bring their work to audiences — whether through recording and releasing music, organising events and workshops, or providing guidance on promotion and distribution.
What we do
- Music production. We record, produce and release music in physical and digital formats.
- Artist support. We guide artists in promotion, communication and distribution.
- Events & workshops. We organise musical events, performances, workshops and releases.
- Collaboration. We work with cultural organisations, other labels and educational institutions.
- Education. We run initiatives on music production, copyright and entrepreneurship in the cultural sector.
- Merchandising. We develop and sell merchandise (clothing, accessories, physical media) with all proceeds supporting our mission.
Our values
- Accessibility. Our activities are open and welcoming to everyone.
- Community. We work with and for the people around us in Antwerp.
- Transparency. Our legal information and governance are public — see our transparency page.
- Nonprofit by design. As a vzw/ASBL, any surplus is reinvested in our purpose, never distributed as profit.
